Oct. 10, 1960 - Spy and Captor meet again after Eighteen Years: A top German spy and the British intelligence man who caught him met again today for the first time in eighteen years. The Spy - John Eppler - the man Rommel sent into Cairo to crack the Eight Army's battle plans. The Captor - Major A.W. SanSon, M.B.E. Both men met at a press conference held at the savoy hotel today. In 1942, it was Sansom who led a raiding party into Eppler's Cairo hideaway, arrested him, and thus ended the mission Rommel had called One of the most important operations of the war'. Eppler, accompanied by his wife and daughter, have come to London to see the film Foxhole in Cairo, which has been made about his exploits, and will be shown st the Odeon, eicester Square, on Thursday Oct 6th.
