May 05, 1970 - Portland spies Freed: Portland spies harry Houghton and Ethel Gee were freed from prison yesterday on parole after serving nine years of the 15 years sentence imposed at the Old Bailey in March 1961, for their part in the Russian spying which obtained secrets from the Underwater Weapons Establishment at Portland, Dorset. Houghton was smuggled out of Maidstone jail early yesterday morning. Some two hours later Ethel Gee left Styal Prison, Cheshire. Photo shows Ethel Gee is pictured as she arrived at her home in Portland, Dorset yesterday, after her release from Prison
