Feb. 05, 1965 - 5-2-65 Queen sees the Charge of the Galla tribesmen On the last day of their visit to Addis Ababa, on their eight day tour of Ethiopia, H.M. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh witnessed a display of the traditional war game in which thousand Galla tribesmen on mountain ponies, thundered across Addis Ababa racecourse in an encounter, somewhat similar to that of ancient jousting.
