Dec. 12, 1936 - Backs Governor Hoffman in reinvestigation of Lindbergh case Trenton, New Jersey, Mrs. Evalyn (correct) Walsh McLean, Washington society leader, who was revealed as a dominating force behind the reinvestigation of the Lindbergh baby murder. This is the second effort on her part to solve the murder to her satisfaction. After the child was kidnapped Mrs McLean, then publishing a Washington newspaper, gave Gaston B. means and an accomplice 04, 000 to ransom the aviator's son. This proved a cruel hoax and the men were sentenced to federal prisons. She has already held a conference with Governor Hoffman who has given the Bronx carpenter one stay
