Ex-General Raoul Salan set free from jail, Tulle, France

Jun. 06, 1968 - Rebel French general is set free from jail he is granted a pardon by President de Gaulle; President De Gaulle today granted a pardon to ex-General Raoul Salan, the last of the four generals still in prison for leading a military revolt against the President's Algerian policy. Salan left the jail at Tulle, central France, where he had been for the last six years, accompanied by his daughter, 18 year old Monique.
