Ex-Nazi drug traffickers in South America
Sep. 09, 1972 - Ex Nazis as Drug Trafficker Bosses. Former important Nazi members who disappeared after 1945 to South America are reported to have set up a large illegal gun running network over half the continent, this is told by documents, found by the police of Peru. During routine investigations on the occasion of the murder of a rich captain of industry from Peru, Luis Nancherc, it was found that the neighbouring house of the murdered man had been bought some time before from the former Gestapo leader of Lyons, Klaus Barbie. After non stop examinations Barbie confessed relations to Friedrich Schwend, who had forged during the war on Hitler's orders millions of British pound notes. After the search in Schwend's house the police got documents, which pointed to gun running and currency smuggling, as well as to corruption and blackmail of officials. The 58 year old Schwend has been arrested. Investigations showed links of Schwend to disappeared Nazis in Panama and Paraguay. Further was discovered a large network of drug smuggling, in which the former SS man Walter Rauff is said to be involved, who is living in Chile
