Nov. 11, 1956 - OIL ON TRAINING QUARTERS: The New Zealand contingent (the other is from Britain) of the British Commonwealth Trans-Antaractic Expedition has been training at Tasman Glacier, near Mount Cook, South Island, New Zealand. Under the leadership of Everest-conqueror Sir Edmund Hillary and the deputy leadership of Mr. Bob Miller, the New Zealanders expect to establish a base at McMurdo Sound in the Rose Sea early next year.
