Mar. 27 Athens, Greece underwater explorer Jacque Cousteau, announcing the end of a 13 month antiquity scan of the Aecean seaded, Said Monday he was convinced the legendary city of Atlantis was only a Myth created by Ancient Greek Historian philosopher Plato. He added however that his search revealed thousands of antiquities and several ship wrecks dating from three thousand years B.C. to the firs world war. Speaking at a Press Conference Cousteau said descents with his mini submarine around the volcanic Greek Island of Santorini where Atlantis was said to be showed thre is nothing whatsoever there to be found. Everything is covered in lava and nothing can ever be found. Cousteau said he was convinced the story around Atlantis was Begnan by Plato, author of the Republic in fact the description of an ideal state. Plato was the theoritically behid the creation of an ideal state Cousteau said, and he built up a fantasy of Atlandtis as his model for a perfect civilization. Atlantis was never a reality, but the myth was carried on after Plato. Atlantis was said to have been destroyed in the volcano eruption and ensuing tidal wave which took place around 1, 450B.B.C. Cousteau described it as history's greatest explosion which wiped out settlements, fleets and progress
