Jul. 07, 1962 - Grave at the Nanga Parbat : One of the most experienced Alpinists, 28-year-old German mountaineer Siegfried Loew (Loew) who lived at groedig near salzburg, found his grave at the nanga parbat, a mountain in the Himalaya. Together with fellow mountaineers (the German Toni kinshofer and anderl mannhardt - members of the German diamire expedition ), loew had conquered on June 22nd the 8125 meters high Nanga parbat in the Himalaya across the north west diamir flank. When descending again from the peak, loew fell down at a height of 7500 meters. Shortly after his fall he died. before returning to Germany, the leader of the expedition, Dr. Karl Herrligkoffer, took this picture of siegfried loew's grave at the Nanga parbat
