Dec. 12, 1968 - Hardy Helmsmen compete for the icicle trophy in Arctic conditions at Burnham-on-crouch.: In real arctic conditions hardy helmsmen were out sailing their craft at Burnham-on-crouch, Essex, today, competing in the Royal Corinthian annual Ic Icicle trophy event, the chief winter race of the dinghy racing world. Photo shows these hardy sailors braved a ducking in the icy water when their craft overturned soon after the start of the Icicle trophy event today
