Jun. 06, 1978 - British climber Nick Estcourt killed n K2.: British Climber Nick Estcourt has been killed in the West ridge of the World's second highest mountain, K2, Estcourt 33, was climbing with another well known mountaineer Doug Scott when he was swept away by an avalanche falling 3000 feet to his death.
