Feb. 02, 1959 - Experts at the destroyed painting by Rubens: On Feb.26th, 1959 in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich an assault with acid was made on the Rubens-painting The Condemned tumbling into Hell'. the supposed assailant is Walter Menzl of Constance. He is, at the moment, being questioned by the police. Photo shows Experts at the destroyed painting. 2nd picture: The pot which contained the acid for the assault
