Oct. 10, 1961 - Lady Olivier's First Husband Weds In London: The wedding took place this afternoon at Hampstead registry office of television director Roger Gage, whose first wife (Joan Plowright) is now Lady Olivier, wife of Sir Laurence, to Miss Burda Cann, 24, a West End stage dancer and daughter of a doctor. Known as the English Mermaid, the bride stood in for Esther Williams in the Aqua-Spectacle at Wembley Pool in 1956.
