Famous People's Families
Feb. 02, 1965 - Hermine Morike, grandniece of the poet Eduard Morike: only few days ago celebrated her 80th birthday. The old lady lives in her Munich flat surrounded with memories of the important poet. But the hand-written manuscripts of her granduncle she has handed over to the Eduard Morike-Museum in Ludwigsburg. From his private things she retained for herself only Morikes watch, his signet and his paper-weight. In spite of her old age Hermine Morike is hale and hearty. She writes tales and little text-books and sometimes she composes a little bit. Every day gives piano lessons. Photo shows Hermine Morike on the window of her flat in Munich
