Feb. 02, 1973 - Angry Villagers From Upshire Stage Farmland Demonstration At The House Of Parliament: Angry villagers from Upshire, an Essex hamlet threatened by a six-lane motorway, today staged a huge farmland demonstration - a cavalcade of farm vehicles to the House of Commons where they handed over a petition signed by more than 8, 000 people. Upshire, the Epping Forest village, is faced with destruction by the building of the M16 motorway. Photo shows some of the villagers with their animals as they demonstrate outside the House of Commons today
