Two fashion models with effigy of Churchill
Sep. 09, 1969 - Fashion Influence Of The 40's And The Battle Of Britain'.: At a special press preview today, London's top models showed fashions and hairstyles which owe their influence tot he heroic period of the 1940's when the Battle of Britain was fought and won in the skies of this country. The influence of these days has extended from the airman's flying jacket to modern sheepskin and leather wear, from the uniforms of the period to the modern trenchcoats and military-style clothes of today. The fashion show is held by United Artists to launch the September 15th World Premiere of the film Battle Of Britain, and took place in the setting of Madame Tussaud's exhibition of the same name which has been mounted specially to herald the release of the film. Photo shows Two hairstyles by Teasey Weasey Raymond, which owe their influence to the heroic period of the 1940's. On left is The Barrage Style, worn by Janice, and on right The Flighty Style, a Spitfire fashioned in real hair. Between the girls is an effigy of Sir Winston Churchill
