Two fashion models with effigy of Churchill
Sep. 09, 1969 - FASHION INFLUENCE OF THE 40'S AND THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN'. At a special press preview today, London's top models showed fashions and hairstyles which owe their influence to the heroic period of the 1940's when the Battle of Britain was fought and won in the skies of this country. The influence of these days has extended from the airman's flying jacket to modern sheepskin and leatherwear, from the uniforms of the period to the modern trenchcoats and military-styles clothes of today. The fashion show is held by United Artists to launch the September 15th World Premeire of the film Battle of Britain, and took place in the setting of Madame Tussaud's exhibition of the same name which has been mounted especially to herald the release of the film.
