Father Roger Schutz Receives Prize Of Peace

Oct. 10, 1974 - Father Roger Schutz Receives Prize Of Peace Of German Book Trade: Father Roger Schutz was recently presented with the prize of peace of the German book trade 1974, in Frankfurt. Father Schutz, born in the Swiss canton, Vaud, founded together with three brethren, the Communute of Taize, a little mountain village in France. The community which nowadays has about 70 members from all Christian churches, offers the chance of meeting to people of all religions and races. With the prize of peace the German book trade appreciates Father Schutz's service for the poor and oppressed people of the world and also his ecumenical work.
