Father and son campaign for opposing parties, Munich

Father and son canvas for a mandate for the forthcoming diet elections in Bavaria - but for two different parties. Whilst Manfred, 23 years old and student of laws, has been a member of the FDP since 1965, his father Adalbert (49), professor of a grammar school, decided one year later to become active in politics - for the SPD. Now they are opponents for the first time in public for the elections. In order to avoid a duel between father and son already in the morning - but in many points they are of the same opinion - the mistress of the house, Johanna Brunner, has forbidden political talk during their breakfast. But of course, father and son wish each other to be successful and to enter the Bavarian diet. Manfred Brunner knows already now that, even in case of success, he will continue studying.
