Feb. 26 American priest Pierces the iron curtain Ham broadcast to Russia: Father William F. Roell of the Green Bay, Wis. Diocese, who is confined to bed with paralysis, is shown at St. John's Sanatorium, Springfield, III. with his amateur radio outfit. The radio permits him to talk to other Hams in all parts of the world. Last November, Father Roell turned the beam of his transmitter to Russia, but received no answer. Just recently, however he received a card from a Russian in Kiev which said Your signal strength was good. Picked you up at 9:05pm Nov. 14
