Jan. 01, 1957 - Runaway Mental Patients Captured after Sixty Five Hours of Freedom.. The two mental patients who escaped on Friday from Rampton Institute, Notts. were captured yesterday after sixty five hours of freedom. The two men 27 year old Frank Ellis and 19 year old Richard Maskill broke into the home of 44 year old Mrs. Marjorie Wagner at Weston on Trent.. They made Mrs. Wagner supply them with a meal - she managed to raise the alarm - the two men made getaway but they were caught and overpowered at a garage just North of Newark.. Keystone Photo Shows: The hunt is over - and police escort the men from Newark Police Station.. With Frank Ellis in front is P.C. Briddon - who played a big part in the capture of the fugitives
