Nov. 23, 1957 - Police officer Kaempken had a good laugh; When he had dug out Sputnik i from a field near Bonn. Some witty fellow had converted the inside body of a warm water heater into a Sputnik'. Light signals were being transmitted by help of a motor cycle battery and appropriate noise was made with the help of an old alarm clock. The silvery painted metal globe was marked by a red star and the inscription Sputnik I- USSR
