Oct. 11, 1971 - New Style Uniform For Kent Women Police: Women Officers and girl cadets in the Kent police Force will have a new style uniform from next April when the present uniform, adopted in 1961, will be phased out. The new new uniform will be issued to recruits and girl cadets on enrollment but serving policeman will receive the new uniforms as their existing garments become unserviceable. The new uniform is 55% terylene and 45% wool worsted, The uniform, which includes a full length cape, has been designed by Miss J. Moore, Head of the Art department of Thannet Technical College. It has been made up by Mr. H.Y. Ruback, master tailor, of Clifton-ville and Seville Row.
