P.C. Birch - Sarks first policeman - arrived on the island yesterday on two weeks detachment from the neighboring island of Guernsey, to help stamp out Sark's crime wave at least it seems like a crime wave to the peaceful inhabitants - rose trees pulled up, cycles tampered with and electronic carriages breaking the 5 m.p.h. speed limit and drunken tourists
