Feb. 29, 1972 - The Police Of Hessen (West Germany) Will get New Bullit-Proof Vests: The police of Hessen will now get new built-proof vest. The Committee for the interior in the state diet of Hessen has now decided to buy 700 of the built proof vests for DM 450.000 - (50.000). The Frankfurt police will get 20 new models to the 7 already existing old ones. The advantages of these new vests, is the light weight. (each weighs about 12 lbs; the old ones weigh about 28 lbs.) and they allow the officers who are wearing them a greater freedom of movement. The usual steel plates were replaced nu plastic plates.
