Aug. 19, 1974 - IRA men escape from prison ? Thousands of armed Irish troops and police with tracker dogs and helicopters were taking part in a massive hunt for the nineteen IRA prisoners, among them some of the most dangerous terrorists in Ireland, who blasted their way out of Eire?s top security Portlaoise jail yesterday morning and who were still free last night.
