Jan. 01, 1976 - Top State Watchdog is the New Director General of the CBI: The Confederation of British Industry have appointed Mr. John Methven to be its next Director - General. He is at present Director General of Fair trading - the government's chief watching on competition and Consumer affairs. Mr. Methven succeeds Sir Campbell Adamson and takes up his new appointment in June. Picture Shows: Mr. John Methven arriving at his office in the city this morning
