Figure for ornamental fountain for Sloane Square, London

Mar. 03, 1953 - Ornamental Fountain for Sloane Square the Artist Looks On: Work is progressing at the Morris Singer Foundry, Dorset Road, on the ornamental fountain to be cast in bronze, which is to stand in Sloane Square, London. It is the work of Mr Gilbert Ledward RA, it will be 11 feet high, and it is to be a gift from the Lord Leighton Fund. It was hoped to have the fountain in place before the Coronation, but as a bill will have to be passed in Parliament before it is allowed to be placed in the Square this will not be possible. Photo Shows: A man at work on the bronze figure, with on right the plaster original by the artist, and on left the setting for the group
