Film Director Roman Polanski 1933 -

Apr 15, 1977; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Director ROMAM POLANSKI in an LA courtroom during his rape case shortly before fleeing to France. Born August 18, 1933 Polanski is a celebrated Polish/French film director, actor. He pled guilty to statutory rape against a 13 year old girl in the United States and since then has avoided extradition and sentencing by remaining in France. In 2004, Polanski sued Vanity Fair magazine in London for libel, which he currently won July 2005, who alleged in 2002 that he had made sexual advances towards a young model as he was travelling to Sharon Tate's funeral (Polanksi's pregnant wife who was murdered by Charles Manson family members in LA 1969)
