Sep. 09, 1967 - Six die in blazing Pit disaster in Scotland: Two miners were rescued yesterday after being trapped underground for nearly 12 hours by a fire in Michael Colliery, one of Scotland's biggest miners in East Wemyss, Fife. Six men are known to have died and three others are still missing. Nearly 300 men escaped from the fire.
