Sep. 09, 1967 - Six die in blazing Colliery disaster in Scotland: Two miners were rescued yesterday after being trapped underground for nearly 12 hours by a fire at Michael Colliery, one of Scotland's biggest mines in East Wemyss, Fife. Six men are known to have died and nearly 300 men escaped from fire.
