Aug. 08, 1969 - Scene in Prague on Anniversary of the Soviet Invasion. Czechoslovakia's Communist regime introduced a set of emergency laws increasing the penalties for rioters and for citizens who criticise officials of the State or other Communist countries or parties. The measures were a follow-up to the demonstrations and riots in Prague and other cities last week which marked the first anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia.
