Feb. 29 West-Germany's first Jazz school installed in Munich: The first jazz school of west-Germany was opened by the well-known Munich jazz pianist Joe Haider. In 18-week courses (for all interested people, also for those without a musical educational background) talented musicians could be discovered and get a profound education. according to Joe Haider there is a great lack of jazz musicians here in Germany. Joe Haider, 38 years old, was leader of the jazz ensemble of the Bavarian broadcasting system, then went to Berlin where he joined the radio network Rias'.
