First World Exhibition of Transport and Communication

Jun. 06, 1965 - First World Exhibition of Transport and Communication: On June 25th, the first world Exhibition of Transport and Communications will be opened by President Luebke in Munich. The exhibition is to see form 25.6. till 3. October 1965. But in the Zenith of the first year is the salute-shooting with the famous 300 years old WASA-GUN (our picture). This famous was transported from Sweden to Munich with the agreement of King Adolf of Sweden. The gun has a very interest history: 300 years the heavy gun lay on the ground of the ocean. It was a gun of a Swedish ship WASA, that was constructed in 1628 by King Gustave Adolf II of Sweden. On its first trip, the ship went down with all hands. In 1961 the ship was salvaged and now, today, the gun is active
