Mrs. Cecily Norman, of the Ilfracombe branch of the Royal society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals - took a placard to the meeting bearing the words Ilfracombe demands outlaw this cruelty'.. Photo shows: Happy expression on the faces of members of the Hunt as they carry the stag - at the end of the Hunt. In its desprate bid to escape the animal plunged into the River Barle, near Dulverton. There it was shot as it faced the relentless hounds
