1970 - April 2nd, 1970 Records broken as trout season opens in Old Gravel pits. - Trout fishermen were out in force yesterday when two large artificially-made trout lakes opened for the new trout-fishing season at North Mundham, near Chichesterf Sussex. The 22-aore and 17-acre lakes were until recently disused water filled gravel pits belonging to e gravel and aggregates firm, John Heaver, of Chichester. The company has removed all the course fish from the lakes, restocked them with Af000 brown and rainbow trout and landscaped the banks to give the area a pleasant park-like appearance. The first lake opened last year, yesterday the second lake came into use, and soon a 21D 14 ozs brown trout was taken9 beating last yearns record of 2 lb 8 ozs.
