Fishing - Hunting - Skeet Shooting - Trapping

Jul. 11, 1970 - July 11th 1970 Anglers out on the Thames but all they caught was a boot Thirty five anglers were out on the Thames in the heart of London this morning for the third GLC sponsored experiment to prove that fish are returning with the cleaner water. In teams of five they are fishing from seven points between Chelsea and Blackfriars Bridge to see how many of the 50 species of fish known to be in the Thames can be caught. The first experiment in November 1968, drew a blank but last year 161 fish were caught. Photo Shows: Mr. Vic Hackett, from Worcester Park, seen with a football boot on his line-during the fishing on the Thames this morning looking on is another angler, Mr. R.P. Sutton from Hainault, Essex
