1955 - Festival of the Rose.: It is a tradition in Bulgaria to hold every year on the First of June a national Festival of the Rose. The festival takes place in the town of Karlovo, situated in the centre of the famous Bulgarian Rose Valley. The festivities honour the Rose as a symbol of Beauty, Youth and Love.
