1953 - plant: be the greatest sensation of the International Horti- show in Hamburg which is opened on April 30th by teh Federal Predsident. It is the oldest flower of the world which came by plane from Tokyo. Sometime ago the Japanese flower-expert Dr. Ichiro Ohga found the seed of the lotus-flower deep in the earth the age of which is estimated up to 2000 years. Dr. Ohga brought up 4 bulbs from this precious seed which now arrived in Hamburg. Master-gardener Kuhnert put them in a flower-pot which he placed above zero. His finger is pointing to the germ-out of which the flower has to developed in July
