Apr. 17 Cherry Blossom Time In Japan And Korea: Despite a cold March and rainy April weather, cherry blossom time showed up once again in Japan and Korea in all its glory. Parties of Japanese and Koreans made their annual pilgrimages to the places where the cherry trees are noted for their blooms to dance, sing, and drink rice wine in the old tradition. The sake and the dancing kept them warm, and most of the forget how chilly it was. Photo shows In Korea it is the customs for young couples to swing together amdid the cherry blossoms in order to be happy and lucky. The higher they swing the luckier they will be. unless of course they fall off or the rope breaks
