Mar. 03, 1969 - Waterloo station's Dutch Bulbfield: Six thousand tulips, hyacinths and daffodils burst into bloom in the middle of the concourse at London's Waterloo Station today. The bulbs, together with half a ton a peat, were brought over from Holland for the display, which will continue until March 18. They form a bulbfield 50 foot long and 20 feet wide which is part of a Netherlands Railways and Tourist Board's campaign to encourage holidaymakers to visit the Dutch bulbfields this Spring. A pavilion staffed by girls in traditional Dutch costumes, contains brochures containing information about Holland and hot to get there. Special attention is paid to British Rail and the Zeeland Steamship Company's Sprintime in Holland inclusive tours by train and ship - a day trip costs from £14 - which are to be run from Monday, April 14, to Friday, May 9.
