Mar. 18, 1957 - Tidal power to be used for new electric plant: A new plant using tidal power is to be constructed on the River rance, in Brittany for the state-owned Company Electricte de France. 800 men from the French Engineering corps were ordered by the army to set up the boundary on the future plant.
