Nov. 11, 1958 - Nordling made Honorary of Paris - he saved France's Capital from destruction during the war: M. Nordling, ex-Swedish Consul to Paris, who prevailed upon the Germans not to destroy Paris as they were retreating in August 1944, was made honorary citizen of the Capital during a ceremony held at the Town Hall today.
