Oct. 10, 1959 - Too short to serve in the Army. 20 year old Joseph Sylvestre Alemany, a young Frenchman from Oran (Algeria) was among the young recruits summoned by the army for their military service. Tiny Joseph Sylvestre (Height slightly over 3 feet, weight 26 Kgs) was, of course, declared Unfit for the service but he was pleased none the less to pose with his normal fellow recruits
