Aug. 08, 1966 - Diplomat adopts Vietnamese war orphan.: An eight-year-old Vietnamese war orphan has arrived in England, where he will be educated and live as the adopted son of a senior British diplomat, Mr. Herbert Lancashire, and his wife, Heather, 46, who live at Chipstead, in Surrey. They have selected Robert as the name for the boy. The family have arrived from Saigon, where Mr. Lancashire has been first secretary of the British Embassy for the past three years. Th Lancashire already have three daugthers, Joanna, 16, who is in Belguim with friends, Frances, 14, and Monica, 6. Monica travelled with her parents and new brother in the liner bringing them home, from which they disembarked at Gibraltar and travelled through Europe to get Robert Acclimitised. Immediately Robert arrived at his new home, he rushed to assist in the household chores. and was greatly fascinated by the vacuum cleaner, the wheelbarrows, and the quiet of the garden.
