Birch, Sark's first policeman, arrived on the island yesterday on two weeks detachment from the neighbouring island of Guernsey, to help out Sark's crime wave, at least it seems like a crime wave to the peaceful inhabitants, rose trees pulled up, cycles tampered with and electric carriages breaking the 5 mph speed limit and drunken tourists
