Jul. 11, 1971 - Prime Minister Jacques Chaban-Delmas inaugurated the first few parts of a Transaquitain canal yesterday afternoon. The first part will link L'Etang de Cazaux to Biscarosse. Once the first part is done, the 200 kilometer long and 10 meter wide Canal will connect the Gironde estuary to Adour.
