1972 - Miss England goes Townsend Thoresen.: Jenny McAdam, who was recently crowned Miss England, was at Townsend Thoresen Car Ferries Regent Street office today, helping to launch the company;s new uniform style which is being introduced throughout the group. Miss McAdam was modelling the new reservation girl's outift which comprises a cap-style hat. pinafore dress, blouse and jacket. The cloth is specially dyed to match the green of the Townsend Thoresen house colours which are green and orange. Townsend Thoresen Car Ferries operate eight ships on four routes across the Channel to France five new ships are being built for the company at a cost of.30. the first of which is due to come into service in June. photo shows Jenny McAdam - Miss England on left, with four members of the Townsedn Thoresen Regent Street staff - Anne Broomfielf; Lorraine Jeal; Heather Johnson and Sylvia Djone - seen modelling the new uniform style today
