Feb. 21, 1980 - The Secretary of State for the US, Mr. Cyrus Vance, had a long meeting with Mr. Jean Francois-Poncet, France's Minister of Foreign Affairs, as soon as he arrived in Paris. He is visiting European capitals in an attempt to convince Western allies of the US to engage in a united action against the USSR after they invaded Afghanistan with Soviet troops.
