May 05, 1956 - Sir Frank Brangwyn dies at age of 89. World Famous Artist: Sir Frank Brangwyn R.A. died at his home at Ditchling, Sussex, last night. Sir Frank celebrated his 89th. birthday on May 13th. last. He was made an full Royal Academician in 1919 and was then probably the most famous painter in the world. Before he was made a Academician in Britain he received the equivalent honours in France - Germany - Italy and Sweden. Many of his paintings are in various parts of the world - and are included in most of the famous Art Collections.
